Jump heights stopped showing on your Garmin? On Surfr 4 there are four common causes — check them in this order.
1. Your free trial sessions are used up (most common)
Surfr 4 includes 5 free trial sessions of Big Air with live jump heights. Only sessions that actually recorded jumps count. Once they're used, Big Air needs Surfr Plus — Speed recording stays free forever.

2. Your watch needs an account sync
A paired watch checks your subscription with your Surfr account. If it hasn't synced for 30 days, the watch shows an "account sync needed" notice and eventually blocks Big Air until it can sync again. With your phone nearby, open the Surfr app on the watch and go to Menu → Surfr Account → Sync now. Your subscription is never lost — it unlocks again right after a successful sync.
3. Your watch switched to Surfr.AI mode
On some watch units, the one-time sensor check finds a hardware sensor issue. Those units record in Surfr.AI mode: no live heights on the watch, but accurate jump heights in the Surfr app right after your session syncs. See why your Garmin watch does not support live jump heights.
4. Your watch isn't linked to your Surfr account
Big Air needs your watch linked to your Surfr account (you get 14 days from first use before this is required). Link it via Menu → Surfr Account on the watch.
On the Legacy app (Surfr 3.x)
Since Surfr 3.0 (March 2025) we show accurate heights or none at all — the old "indicative" heights are gone. Watches with a 25 Hz accelerometer therefore don't display jump heights on the previous app. See the Garmin Compatibility List — Legacy app.
